Re: USS Bonhomme Richard in trouble

Looks like the Bonhomme is still burrning. The front mast has collapsed and she is listing due to all the water that has been poured on/in.

Re: Through the Inferno, Caucasus

OK, after feedback tonight: Kneeboard file updated with correct TACAN and ICLS info. CVN-71= 71X and 11, LHA-5= 5X and 5. I also added aircraft to spawn into at Sukhumi in case Gudauta gets bombed out. I also moved the SAM site zone away from Sokhumi as it was too close for us to use as an airfield....

Re: Mon, 7/13

OK, I have TTI set up for us I think. PDT_Armataz_01_18 It is currently running on the server. I did a bit of testing and had to disable Random Air Traffic (had only fighters on) as an AI F-15 just did some weird sideways sliding into my aircraft while I was setting up to taxi out. I thought I had m...

Re: USS Bonhomme Richard in trouble

Yah - smells like burned rubber. It definitely was gone early this morning as I was able to open the windows back up (about 4AM) but the smell was back later and had to close them again.

Re: The Future of DCS According to Nick Grey

Yah but they can grab revenue from it. :( This despite what Nick Grey says. If they get modern squared away, then they can approach WW2. To me it seems like some influential person has a pet WW2 project. I would say the second video does give a bit of perspective from a software development perspeti...

USS Bonhomme Richard in trouble

Not sure if any of you have seen this: https://news.usni.org/2020/07/13/fire-fight-intensifies-on-uss-bonhomme-richard-5-sailors-still-hospitalized We had to close our windows last night from the smell, this morning I can see a light haze on the horizon in all directions and we still have the smell....

Training requests

Good idea Smada. So folks post here what you would like training on the most. Maybe give your top 1 or 2 requests.

Re: Training Perishable Skills

Yah - I am not sure when that may have been done, perhaps near San Clemente and the other Channel Islands. But they definitely do not do it in the bay, at least here. I am pretty sure the squadron has to be qual'ed before they can embark on the carrier. Bones may well know more.

Any volunteers to create an informal syllabus or training goal? We will also test out Through the Inferno AND see how suitable it is for conducting training and what types of training.

Re: Training Perishable Skills

In the bay? The good part of Inferno is that other folks can do other things as well if they do not want to practice carrier operations. Also, if carrier ops is over, a live training mission can be spawned to practice against - there are easy level missions that will not fight back much and even the...

Re: Training Perishable Skills

I do not think so, I believe you have to go accomplish missions, they are not around the carrier. Plus I can ensure the carrier groups are on weapons free to engage any incoming. And incoming might add some realism to your training. PDT_Armataz_01_28

Re: Training Perishable Skills

It is true that I come on later, and I do not mind doing LSO - but I am not sure how acceptable that is since I do not have F-14 or F/A-18C and actually do those carrier landings (but do have SC). I know in RL it would absolutely not fly - the LSO is carrier qal'ed. Of course I can land the SU-33 on...

I just saw that difference as the capability, or lack thereof, in the different platforms.

Re: New Syria Map

Panzer I might join you on KA-50. I actually think it would be a great DEAD platform to go in before the main package. They can plan while the DEAD team gets to work. This map is also good for more than just F-16. There are a lot of aircraft that flew in or could have flown in this theater with plau...

Re: Training Perishable Skills

Grifter, I think in your first mention of PV* you mean PVP, and your second mention you mean PVE?

I am OK with it as long as it is not all carrier ops, or some convention is made for those without US carrier capable modules. Of course I could train up to do better on LSO.
