well GTR Evo arrived last night. I installed it (its a stream game) and I fired it up to take a looksee......

Uggggh! glad I paid only $14 for it....

After NFS Shift....thats like looking at graphics from a C64.....fugly to the extreme. I admit some of the visuals in Shift are over done (like the carnival rides going in the infields) but damn. The sounds were non-existant.

I know for now I'm playing on a game pad and using the easy settings....but even so, in Shift I can feel the car's physics, the weight transfer, etc... in Evo its like MarioKarts......

Sorry to say Panzer, but Evo is pretty much a $14 coaster ATM....

Get Shift for the PC and you will see I'm not joking

We must be playing different versions or something because I know that Race 07 with all the aids turned off is a very hardcore simulation. Do you have all the graphics options maxed out? For me, the game looks great.

I am downloading the demo but if I can convince my wife to let me buy it with her money then I will capitalize on the discount. If not oh well, I will shell out the 50 bucks when I get paid. I am using a gamepad myself until I can find a wheel set for ummmmm next to nothing.

By the way I am on steam, account name dacmacg.

What veg said - "Shift" is a sim ... they went away from the arcade style of past NFS games.

Bummer, didn't know it was a racing "sim" or I would have grabbed it. Oh well, maybe another day.
