Re: First F-4E Flights

I had read before that the Rhino was famous for flipping onto its back and entering a flat spin. In one of those turns, you can see I nearly did that. It suddenly did a roll reversal, flopped upside down, and was about to start spinning but I somehow was able to recover and survive that. Probably fr...

First F-4E Flights

Played around with the F-4 and got some basics down. That thing sure is a big lug to fly in a dogfight, both in maneuvering and in this old time weapons employment. At least the HUD is clean without too much information cluttering it: https://youtu.be/Jp0cE1UfLmI https://youtu.be/eMWmoxiyilw https:/...

Re: Mission Night Wednesday 05.29.24

Oh and sorry but I don't have any new respawns. The person who knows how to do it and would do it for me is on a DCS hiatus and I don't want to bother him with it. So, if you need to, get to Aleppo and rearm/refuel then continue on.

Mission Night Wednesday 05.29.24

All, After many many sorties, I was able to clear out Jirah and turn it neutral. A convoy headed out from there before I did and headed toward Allepo but some AI AH-1Ws and I cleared them out too. An Mi-8 tried to resupply Jirah, but I took him out. So we need to take Jirah before it gets recaptured...

F-4 Phantom and Through the Inferno

I noticed that there is a Through the Inferno mission for the F-4. Since TTI was an independent mission from a user, maybe ED has taken on TTI or at least are in cooperation with the writer. If so, this mission may be made to work better with DCS since it has ED involved (well, as far as ED goes). v...

Foothold Syria 05.22.24

Well, guys, we tried to take Jirah but couldn't hit everything there before they repaired and resupplied. Here is video of me fighting an F-5 that took out my HUD with his guns. As you recall I was having audio issues so only my mic recorded: https://youtu.be/0BmXrva1GDs Panzer and Creeper were able...

Re: Big update out today

OK, so far it looks like when you hit the UFC button in the TPOD page, the code is already set to 16888. However, if you look at the rearming page, for the pylon that has your laser bomb, there is a small yellow triangle on the upper left corner. Click that and you will get a window where you can ch...

Re: Big update out today

I just finished updating the server and I hopped on and everything seems intact.

AS for laser codes, I haven't tried the Hornet yet, but I assume it is the same way as the Bombcat. Check your kneeboard and find the code there.

Re: Big update out today

HA! Hornet drivers have to enter your laser codes for TPOD on the ground and not on the fly in the air via the TPOD page and UFC. Now Hornet drivers can feel F-14 Bombcat drivers' pain! Despite the pain, this is how it is in real life, actually, especially for the Tomcat. The ordnance crew have to s...

Mission Night Wednesday 05.22.24

See you all at 2000 Eastern. I'm updating the server right now for the beta and will try to make sure it is up and running before then. We took Aleppo so we can rearm and refuel from there. Unfortunately we cannot spawn there at this time. So I suggest maybe taking a flight from Hatay to Aleppo and ...

Foothold Syria 05.15.24 - TAke Aleppo

Great job last night! We were able to take Aleppo thanks to an airdrop from Wingy. We were also able to take Taftanaz! A convoy attempted to attack Aleppo after we took it. Creeper and I were able to hit them. Since they were so close to Aleppo, I was bale to hot refuel and rearm multiple times and ...

Re: Carrier Ops and DCS

Pattern Nuances So in the past year I have given the details of the procedures fro carrier ops. Now I will hit on some of the nuances, the little details that seem minor but still do count for things. In the pattern it is generally known that there can be no more than 6 aircraft in the pattern at on...

Re: Carrier Ops and DCS

Max Fuel For Trap Many of you may have noticed with the latest DCS updates that it is harder to land on the boat or even ashore without breaking your landing gear. Well, as you know, the flight model has been improved to take into consideration landing speed and weight. This is certainly a realistic...

Wednesday Night Mission 05.15.24

After last Wednesday's mission, we were barely able to get Aleppo to go neutral. Tomorrow night's mission will focus primarily on rushing over to Aleppo and taking it to the Blue side. This will mean that we need to send a C-130/UH-60/Mi-8/Mi-24 there quickly and under air cover to take it. We have ...

Re: Carrier Ops and DCS

The Fuel Ladder The fuel ladder is a very important tool that helps naval aviators recover aboard safely. The fuel ladder is a diagram usually drawn on the kneeboard, or sometimes even on the canopy glass by RIOs/WSOs. It depicts what fuel state the aircraft should be at at a given time during the m...

Awesome videos as always bones.
Thanks! And great job again everyone, it really showed what collaboration and teamwork will do to get the mission done! Like PM said it was a tall order, but we filled it by taking Delta and got the bonus of taking Aleppo down to neutral!

Foothold Syria 05.08.24

Excellent work tonight buys! We hit Delta well enough that it went neutral and Creeper was able to land there and take it. Our attention then shifted to pounding Aleppo. It was tough; we'd hit it and they would repair, then wed hit it again. Finally we got it down to 4 units and Creeper and I tried ...

Re: Carrier Ops and DCS

Cyclic Ops It's been a year, so let me continue on with a little more discussion of carrier ops. In carrier ops, you have two kinds of ops: Carrier Qualifications (CarQuals) and Cylic Ops. CarQuals are basically Case I departures and recoveries that are done with the carrier near port to qualify na...

Yes, but if anything we can hit Aleppo as much as possible and then if Wingy is with us he can order an arty strike to finish them off then we can occupy it.

Re: Wednesday Night Flying

I will be there! We have a critical stage in the mission. Over at Delta, we were able to turn it neutral. However, a KA-50 was last seen headed over there to resupply. If it makes it, Delta will be red again. We have to get over there and stop that KA-50, or if it makes it, we have to hit that site ...
