Work on the RCU8150 (remote control unit) panel that would control the AN/ARC-210 VHF/UHF radio in the Harrier.
I am also engineering my own mechanism to replicate the "PULL" to rotate through some blocked positions on the dials.

Re: Xpendable's WIP Harrier cockpit
Some of the latest pictures. Unfortunately the big screen is out of commission as I did a not so great job building the support structure for the 4x4 post. Admittedly it was done in a hurry and only half baked. One of my daughters knocked the supports lose on accident and the screen crashed into the...

Viacom discord accounts conpromised
If you use the Vaicom / voice attack stuff, be aware that the dev admins have lost control of their discord server and accounts to hackers. Do not trust anything from there. They said their Github account is safe.

Won't be on tonight.
My new 3D printer got delivered today so I plan on getting it setup. Unfortunately that means no flying for me tonight.

Re: Xpendable's WIP Harrier cockpit
My cockpit now has a proper working ejection handle. And a working seat arming handle. I designed and built both of these replicas from scratch. https://youtu.be/IFuYIWF3_ak?si=b58Qghd1V0HN96Bn https://youtu.be/riSW7wwywkU?si=hB2afUATEPwk2_cl On the other hand I had a step backwards. I had recently ...

I won't be on Wed 12/17
My daughter has a dance recital this Wednesday night, so it doesn't look like I will get to fly. The following Wednesday is Xmas and the wed after that is New Year's day.

Re: Wed Night Missions
If you do Kola both nights I obviously won't be able to join you as I don't have that map and don't plan on buying any more maps at this point. If you do decide to run one of the maps I do have tonight, I will try and join. If not, that's ok - I don't want to hold you up with what you want to do. Yo...

Re: Falcon 5.0
I have an answer for your question on what becomes of BMS. If I understand correctly, MicroProse has publicly stated that they are totally supportive of BMS and will continue to honor the original agreement allowing BMS to exist. As before, BMS is not allowed to make any money from their efforts, bu...

Falcon 5.0
So in case you didn't see it, there is a new combat flight simulator that has been in the works for several years now, Falcon 5.0 by MicroProse. Not a whole lot of information has been released about it, but I can tell you what I know: The makeup of the company MicroProse is very different than the ...

Re: DCS Cockpit Sim
Thanks for sharing. That's a bizarre cockpit! It's part F-18 and part F-16. No F-18 has a side-stick as far as I know, and obviously the F-16 does have a side stick. I'm not super impressed with what they've got going on there. There are far better home-grown simpits out there. This seems like it wa...

Another 1.1 million USD transfered to TFC
Nick Grey (owner of Eagle Dynamics and The Fighter Collection) has again transferred more money in August 2025 (this time, 1.1 million USD) from ED to TFC through his shell company, Patina. These are interest free "permanent" loans that will never be repaid to ED. The filings for the money...

Re: Continuing to consider options for upgrading/building new PC. Quick question:
I would go the liquid cooler route. There is no reason not to. They are relatively cheap, already fully assembled, and far superior. You aren't clamping anything, you aren't filling it, it's turn key. It is actually considered the defacto standard now on all modern gaming pcs I think. Everyone uses ...

Re: Foothold Cold War Germany 08.09.25
They just had a major update come out a few months ago. I haven't tried BMS ever so really can't speak to it. But supposedly it has come a lot further since 2018. I may try and fool around with it some time soon.

Re: Continuing to consider options for upgrading/building new PC. Quick question:
Chances are any processor fitting that older motherboard will not be Windows 11 compatible. Current day i7's are not compatible with older motherboards because the sockets are different (by design). I had an older i7 and it was not Windows 11 compatible. By the way, this is a totally manufactured Mi...

Re: Foothold Cold War Germany 08.09.25
That gives you time to consider a purchase or or something for the next DCS sale. I can't bring myself to stomach any more modules at this point because ED scammed Razbam out of more than $3 million and later pinned it on a manufactured IP claim as a scam. They release half finished modules to get ...

Re: Xpendable's WIP Harrier cockpit
Thank you! I am slowly making more progress but it's almost at a snails pace it seems even though every little thing takes a long time. My wife is showing signs of frustration with the amount of time I have spent on it this summer so I probably have to back off a little. I go back to work on Monday,...
