Re: Flight Controls - a primer from the flight sim world
The X-52, X-52 Pro, and X-55 have twist sticks. They might be good middle ground alternatives. In particular the X55 has a split throttle, which is not terribly common. I would have definitely gone with it back in the day, had it existed, instead of X-52, and may have forgone the Warthog completely ...

Re: Flight Controls - a primer from the flight sim world
People have it working with some program that can read the TIR input and send it to Star Citizen as output it understands. From what I read it works OK, but most people are suggesting just wait for the support in the game.

Flight Controls - a primer from the flight sim world
Common controls in the flight sim world, which should translate fairly well, may be a tempting investment to those interested in Star Citizen. This is especially true if you're considering engaging in combat. Today, everything I have works, save Track IR which I understand is definitely on the featu...

Re: our prefered roles and organization name?
I'd be fine with Organization too. That or Syndicate would be vague enough to allow whoever to do whatever without violating the look and feel of the thing. I imagine some groups are going to be hard core guns for hire PMC types and while that appeals to me I expect some here will not want to do tha...

Re: our prefered roles and organization name?
Syndicate? Edges or outside the law? Seems like it'd be good for no questions asked cargo runs, hired mercenary/guns, running over to LV 426 and do a scan for life forms - oh and don't ask questions, etc. We can have morals, but we don't have to if we're a syndicate. We also don't have to necessaril...

Re: our prefered roles and organization name?
Mostly want to blow crap up with lots (did I mention lots) of guns. I have no patience for stealth or running around in circles exploring. I vote HSMM for name. Hammer's Spacefaring Mental Midgets. PDT_Armataz_01_28 But in all seriousness a name like you suggested that covers the range of activities...

Re: first video of single play vanduul swarm.
I use Fraps for recording from games. It's a screenshot/video recorder. It's a bit expensive for what it is, however I believe it is a perpetual license, so you get any updates in the future (not that I think there have been any since I bought it), and it has a couple nice features, like letting you...

DCS: Bf 109 K-9, L39, MiG-15bis, Su-27, NTTR, all coming!
Awesome newsletter today. TL;DR: November: DCS: Su-27 EFM DCS: L-39 (Pre-purchase) DCS: Bf 109 K-9 (Pre-purchase) December: DCS: MiG-15bis Nevada Test and Training Range (possibly, still the hope). I believe this would imply EDGE in December as well. F/A-18C Hornet and EDGE still in progress. No dat...

Re: DCS: Hawk
1974. The MiG-21Bis has a huge speed advantage, but in other regards it is at a disadvantage or no better. But yes if theyre both aware of each other and the 21 keeps moving fast the Hawk is probably dead. 21 dows somethi g stupid though and the Hawk could capitalize. Way better A-A missiles for sure.

Re: DCS: Hawk
It is combat capable, since it is the T.1A. 2 AIM-9's plus 30mm Aden gun pod, and two more underwing pylons for mk-151 rockets, Mk-82 and CBU-87 bombs, and UPK-23 gun pods. No worse than the F-86F and barely worse, though considerably slower than the MiG-21. Better A-A missiles though. Not like the ...

What BH said. We have active flight simmers for DCS, RoF, soon IL-2: BOS. RTS'ers that do the gamut of COH2, DOW, Total War, Sins of a Solar Empire, etc. Tactical FPS like ARMA 3. Massively online in various forms including MWO, LOTRO, etc. We are on both coasts and probably have a few in between as...
