Re: DCS Update March 10 2023
Note if you want to try it there is a separate EXE for it. I went and started it as I always did and didn't see a thing change and thought "oh, that's disappointing." The actual .exe is "\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe" and when you run it you will see "multithread ...

Battle of Normandy out now, with more planes and a map. That now covers mid-1944 to early 1945 on the western front.
No idea where the series will go next...

Re: F-15E!
I'm sure I'll get it just because it's been over 20 years since I flew a decent version of this jet after using it non-stop in the 90s between Jane's and MPS. But yes, the Hornet seems like it's easier to use so far from the videos I've seen. Maybe because the Beagle had that WSO helping out and the...

Re: South Atlantic Map
I've not done too much with it as there were no premade missions for it, just instant action generated. Today's update has added missions for several planes, the note say which ones. It is by far the largest map in DCS. All of S America from a bit further north of the Falklands to the southern tip. ...

Yeah and people should update their own as well. It was about 8GB for me, unpacking to well over 10. Depending on your ISP/PC that could take some time.

Also we sometimes fly Il-2 on Thursday nights, if you can make that. Not a regular thing, though.

Re: New F-18C Grip...
Ok so you inspired me to post the pics of my HOTAS(es). Seeing as I have F-16 and Hornet grips for both sticks and throttles. Currently have the Vipers' connected with the Hornet's lying next to them. 20220502_192808.jpg Xpen, you mentioned offset, do you mean rotating the stick on the base? With mi...

Re: Top Gun - Actor Training
Only question at this point is if I'll get to see it in the theater or have to wait for home.
Lots of other films coming out this summer.

Re: Ready or Not (S.W.A.T)
Yeah we could really use the extra people since unlike Siege's fixed numbers RoN will not only randomly move around tangos and civvies and traps but also vary how many you run into and how aggressive they are or aren't.
The recent patch really improved it quite a bit.

Yes, there are still a lot of areas that need polish but it's already fairly workable.

Re: Normandy Mission!
I believe Marianas is slated to be the first to have both modern and WWII era versions. Obviously the WWII one comes out 2nd, I just don't know if it will also be free or paid. Seeing as how the terrain itself is the same and it's just different buildings and smaller amounts of developed land, it ma...

No, the F-4s were official for those. SF2: Vietnam especially.
Of course the MSFS series has had them too. Only TK has made a Nam-era sim since the early 90s though.

Re: Double Trouble Splurge!
Hammer, Thanks for the offer. I've heard you can usually find one now if you're willing to go way over MSRP, but I'm not into spending $700+ for a 3070 right now. Now if you have a line on a 3070 for under $550, I'm interested, but otherwise I will wait for the 4000 series and hope I can get one for...
