Mechs So far

Post by VEGETA »

STICKY ????

So they are announcing new mechs about every 14 days. as of late. So far as of today launch we are up to 14 mechs. And I must admit some of them are real nice ones. So figured get all the data together in one spot for us. Note I highly suggest reading the text in each link as they have some really cool little mini stories for mechs.

I am also including a link to the battletech wiki page so you can do some more reading on these mechs. There Mech portal is found here

Note there where no anouncments for the first 3 mechs. Also there is stories to go with them just art.

Hero Mechs

Hero mechs are special mechs, usualy custom versions of designs used by someone of note in the battletech cannon. They can only be purchused using MC which is bought using real cash. They do give a bonous in cash and can have a slot configeration diffrent from other mechs. But there is nothing specia in combat, IE there is no extra 20% damage or anything like that. So it is not a pay to win item (as of now anyway).

New Centurion Variant (CN9-YLW)
30% permanent C-Bill gain boost
3750 MC

If you don't know this mech you have not read many battletech books. It featured in a large number of books and even made it into the dark age timeline.

this is a NON Cannon mech. Apparently they will make some new hero mechs and sue cannon hero mechs.

is Cicada instead of Locust? and Jagermech instead of Rifleman? are we not going to see the 'lost' mechs?

We're not going to see the Unseen. Pirahna doesn't want to get sued (again) by Harmony Gold (again).

Ya that initial trailer with a warhammer got them in some hot water. Now there is a chance at some ReSeen mechs (Technical Readout Project Phoenix) . Ie the redesign of the unseens, But according to battletech story line, the Reseens are battlefield refits in the 3060 range. So there is no 100% we will or will not see them. Unfortunatelythis covers some of my favorite mechs such as the marader and phoenixhawk (the Hawk in GT_Hawk comes from this mech)

there is also another group called the Reseen that via licence where allowed to return.

Unseen lists, more then just Robotech.

been a while but mech 16 has been posted and its the flea. Um ya light thing

Also note the PC gamer magazine, next one due out has this game on the cover. If you buy the US copy of the magazine, you get a free mech skin and a bobblehead for the cockpit.

I will also note that there is a image of a highlander in the magazine, looks like one of the next mechs to hit will be this sucker as the art is not of any that already exists. Like all mechs in the game there have been some tweaks to the look.

All one really needs is a leg, a jump jet, and a small laser. The rest is just window dressing.

Shadow Hawk would be nice. Looks like it's 'reseen' so no excuses!

Someday - ah, someday - someone will make use of the battlemech creation rules in one of these games and we can design and pilot our own original battlemechs. For me, that was always 75% of the fun of playing the board game - pitting my creations against the creations of the other players.

I just tied my record for kills in assault using my LRM Stalker. Frozen city night, started on the side with the tunnel on the left.
Stalker 5S XL310 Motor running 2x LRM10Arty 2 largepulse lasers in side torsos 2 medium lasers, 1 in each arm LRM5 1arm your choice. Full armor 526/526.
BAP in the CT cruising along with XL310 engine. 74/34 armor.
LRM10 and Large Pulse laser sharing each side torso with that badass engine. 1 DHS in each side torso. Remember, heatsinks take 10 damage if hit. 45/27 armor.
Lrm 5 in the right arm. I tend to hide it better than the left side. 1 Medium laser in each arm. 1 DHS in each arm and 1 ton of LRM ammo.
1 Ton LRM ammo w/ artemis in each leg. Full armor. I like spreading the ammo around. Loose one area and still have ammo left. This thing is fast enoug to get distance for missle. That it's key. It haelps to have a good team keep the other team busy and engaged.
Which brings the last mission.

I have to admit, we had more EMC lights and they had no assaults. I hung back jusp past the tunnel so I couldn't get sniped. But they never used the tunnel. Everyone else on my team rushed to the other side of the wreck. I was like oh no. I just stood there, and started firing at targets. There were 3 groups fighting. They were actually targeting!!! And wooooaaa TAG!
When my team engaged with our ECM ravens, they got all out in the open and I rained hell constantly. I had a perfect vantage and had 3 open targets at 500 to 700m out. Nothing even near me. I used all my ammo and got 3 kills with missiles with a few laser long distance shots thrown in. Then at the end with only lasers I got 3 more close up and personal. NOTHING had any armor left by the time I got to them with yellow armor. They had to have been like wtf did this fresh stalker come from?
What fun even though it was very lopsided. I didn't realize that of course until the end.
