Got it installed, yay! Flew a Pearl Harbor mission, got my ass handed to me, just like old times. Lol!

BTW, the P-40 loves to go into a spin if you pull back too hard in a dive, what a POS. ;)

I'm not sure if I'm ready to take the jump to Track IR just yet. Wish I could try before I buy. Heh.

I have a trackIR2...yes its old but it might be the single greatest thing for flight sims ever made besides rudder peddles. I'm not joking.

If you use the ad on SimHQ, you get 25$ off so its $154....

When my new one comes in....I might just sell my old one

Ah, ok. I'll check out the deal, but I might have to wait a bit. I have gone way over my game purchasing budget in the last few weeks. Need to control my buying habits. Doh!

I was skeptical as well Softball until I bought my TrackIR and I will tell you that it was money well spent. I could never imagine playing a flight sim again without TrackIR. It really is that great.

I also have an LCD, so hopefully there is a work around for getting it to stay on top of it.

Panzer, do you use your TIR4 for ArmA?

Buff, you see the number of posts you have right now? 666. Eeeeevil!!!

The TIR 4 has a little split stand thing that latches onto the top of LCD monitors just fine, or sits on a CRT monitor just fine.

I've had mine over a year now and I can't fly without it, although I don't drive with it much and I keep forgetting to use it in ArmA!

As for 1946, it has shipped, but I've no ETA.

If have not used my TrackIR yet with ArmA but I plan on doing just that on Friday. I keep forgetting that ArmA supports TrackIR. Argh!

And yes, I have no problem at all mounting my TIR3 on top of my LCD monitor. It comes with an adhesive pad that attaches to the back of the monitor and I just had to add a couple pieces of scotch tape to secure it a bit more.

Scotch tape? Lol!! I'm thinking velcro might be a bit better than scotch tape.

I'll consider getting a TIR4 in the next month or two, gotta save up for it first. The wife wants a new gaming PC, new desk, new chair, new monitor (WS), etc..so I am budgeting for that right now. Ugh!

Is 1946 Stand alone??? or is it like pacific fighters where you can install with previous games in the series or stand alone?

IL-2 1946 is all inclusive and stand-alone. It has everything that has ever been released before and If you buy that, you dont need anything else. If you currently have Pacific Fighters installed, you should go ahead and uninstall that first before installing 1946.

Ok I know there are patches out for this game. Where in the hell do I find them? I went to IL2's official website and only found Pacific fighter updates which is 4.04 and 4.04m.

Well I found 4.08m but I can't find 4.07m which you need and I'm sure I would need 4.06m as well.

DA, for your patching situation, read this thread:
phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=11037

You only need 4.08m as far as I know, I don't remember patching after 4.08m.

Correct. There has only been one patch since the 1946 dvd release.

Well at IL2's official website they are telling me that I need 4.07m before I update to 4.08m, but I can't find 4.07m.

I do not remember installing the 4.07m patch. The only patch I have DLed is the 4.08m. I save all of the patches I DL for my games.

Just DL the 4.08m and try to install it and see if it tells you you need the 4.07m.
