Hungarian Civil War campaign

Post by Hammer »

I have done a bit of work - about 4 man hours - and created a DCG based campaign for the Hungarian Civil War. It is fictional and mostly biplanes. Planes included are:

flyable:
III_JG540 - Gladiator J8A (fighter) (German) (flyboys - german) (2 aces)
356 Squadriglia 0 - CR42 (fighter) (Italian) (CR42_Falco383thsquadriglia) (2 aces)
hu2-1hu0 - I-153 P (ground attack) (Hungarian) (i153_fighter_regiment_Minsk_1941_bl)
RAF_No001Sqn0 - Gladiator J8A (fighter) (British) (flyboys-beagle) (2 aces)
RAF_No003Sqn0 - I-153 M62 (fighter) (British) (BritWW1copyI153) (3 aces)
NN2 - CR42 (fighter) (French) (italynight) (3 aces)
I_StGOne1 - I-153P (ground attack) (German) (I153Albatross) (2 aces)
II_JG540 - I-153 M62 (fighter) (German) (I-153IT-15LeLv6unmarked) (2 aces)

ai only:
356 Squadriglia 2 U2VS (bomber) (Italian) (USSR_U2VS_ZaStalina_byFoobar)
I_StGOne0 TB-3 4M-17 (bomber) (German) (Flyboys - German Bomber)
NN0 - TB-3 4M-17 (bomber) (French) (Flyboys - French Bomber)
hu102_3Bhu0 - Fi156 (recon) (Hungarian) (Fi156_RJaeger_RAFInvasion_flash01)
AufklGr10a - Fi156 (recon) (German) ($Fi156_DL+AW_byFoobar)
RAF_No112Sqn0 - U2VS (bomber) (British) (Flyboys - Trainer)

Allies:
British
French
Hungarian

Axis:
German
Italian

The fighter squadrons are limited to 7 planes each with only 1 flight of 4 per mission. the ground attack and bombers have 8-10 planes each with up to 2 flights of 4 per mission (except the tb3's - less planes and smaller flights). of course attrition will eventuall reduce the planes (each squadron will have 1 plane resupplied per day).

I have found a lot of skins that replicate WW1 paint schemes, and some of the paint schemes of these aircraft were still reminiscent of WW1 as well. There are some brightly colored skins for some of the aces as well...

I know WW1/older aircraft are not for some of you...but I would like to fly this campaign online. I am sure Grifter and Raptor would be interested at least. Please post below for the side you would prefer to fly, and even the aircraft...we do not all need to be on the same side which could make it even more exciting/fun. I would ask that you not take a specially marked aircraft skin (generally the lead in the flights) until you make ace - then you could use whatever skin you like or even create your own (not that hard with a free tool called paint.net). i can post the base skin of each squadron in the campaign so you know which to select when you first start flying (IL2 selects the default skin for each plane type unless you change it yourself).

So who is interested? it is IL2 1946...version.

I'm in. Let me know when you want to fly.

I choose to fly with: RAF_No003Sqn0 - I-153 M62 (fighter)

sounds like fun - especially since it's hand-crafted, as it were.

guys - thx.

i will edit the first post tonight to tell you which nationalities/squadrons are flying which planes/skins. you might want to go ahead and check out the planes to see which ones you want to fly, then post that later.

i will also upload the skin pack...will see about putting it together tonight and uploading it to the server.

yes - i will carefully manage the missions/campaign as much as possible.

Count me in. I'd be more than happy to host the campaign if you can email me the files Steel. Let me know.

apparently skin downloads are not working, or something is not set right. skin pack here:

http://files.rlgaming.com/IL2/BiPlaneSkins.zip

extract to your il2 1946/paintschemes/skins folder. it will put everything and more where they need to be, it is safe (and you should) overwrite files...
