As you may know i have got ILS installed and running but doubt my PC could handle it OL but just incase!! What if any DL's do i need to get to join you guys tonight!

I might as well see if i can join in but if not I'll just Practice Falcon or something!

You need the patches up to 1.2, but that is it for IL2 (IL@, nor Forgotten Battles - not sure which you have). Set your resolution to 640x480 and try meduim settings...see how that does you.

Seems a hell of alot of patches required for this!!

Do i need the all or just some of the patches that go up to 1.2???

you need the 1.1, then one of the 1.2 patches...1.2 or 1.2ov.

hard to say until you try it...but i think you specs are close to those of Nemesis... try 640x480 at medium detail settings... maybe use the demo for testing that out?

I don't think you wil have a problem Kamikazi as your Spec are close to mine with 2 exceptions!!

1. Your Processor is P2 400mhz mine is PIII 500mhz the minimm spec for this game is Seemingly P2 500Mhz according to the box!!

2. This is the big one i think! my main problem is Graphics card specs i only have a ATI Rage 128 16 meg card!!! Your card is well above spec for running IL2 minmum spec being 32 Meg!!

Despite my shortfall on this front i have found last night that running the game at 800X600 res and having some settings at Medium and some at low such as terrain detail the game runs smooth enough on my PC!!

So your GCard should handle this game no probs the Processing speed should not affect you too much as i have games with higher specs than my PIII 500 and they still run ok on it!(JUST )


After flying with the guys last night OL i had a real great time it was a blast and had great fun! I would recommend getting this Sim to anyone even at my low Detail level it was a hoot!!

Now if you could just remember to wait for the guy in front of you (ME) to take off before running your prop up to speed and grinding into them. Lol!

Keep practicing on takeoffs with the BF109, they are not easy at all to control. Once you are airborne, that's a whole new ballgame. Good luck!

IL2 was a BLAST last night(what's new?), I especially liked when Steel was incinerated by a BF-109. I just happened to be watching the battle (I had already crashed and burned) when the BF-109 launched an "Alpha Strike" on his plane! Those of you that play Mechwarrior, you know what an "Alpha Strike" is. For those that don't know, it means firing all weapons at once.

I look forward to our next IL2 battle.

Been practising Takeoffs in the 109 earlier today and i got it licked!!

What i did find is that during a dog fight even at 250 Knts it stalls out easy in hard turns and there is no way to recover ( well not in the time i had to fall from 1000ft) this happened a few times now!!

And as for the running my prop up your tail i was only following Raptors example when he tried and suceeded in killing me and Madrus before we even got our engine running.

If i remember correctly i went like this!

I am in the rear gunner seat looking back at Raptor he starts his engine and calls out Rolling!! I am thinking wait a minute we haven't started moving yet and Raptor is about to Dice me into a nice Stuka Stew!!!

Nemesis, that is not knots, it is kph....much slower than knots. At 250 kph you can not make ANY sudden control movements at all... The name of the game with the 109 is smooth flowing...

250kph = 133knots, if I am correct

Yes, I believe under hardware setup>HOTAS...(or joystick). It is not in the setup app.
