SB Pro PE secondary license deal

Post by Hammer »

Whoa...

I bet it will work via Hamachi...

Who would be interested in trying it out? I would be willing to buy at least two licenses for myself, and host the iso...

Well buying the licenses would benefit the ones who don't have it, so I would think they would speak up.

If enough people are interested, I will consider getting a couple extra licenses for us to all play together. What is the max number of players in a MP COOP with SBPPE?

Also, I read this: Since the Steel Beasts software cannot be executed without a license server active in the network,

the one computer with the CodeMeter stick must be active and running.

Goddangit Steel, Can't you see I'm busy writing curriculum for my American Literature course over here?! Arthur Miller will have his due damnit! ...I'll read the article later...remind me when I'm not busy translating the dead sea scrolls and connecting them to contemporary American Poetry.

yes - so if we are in a Hamachio session it should all be good. i am also going to try and see if I can figure out a wayt to get it up and running on the dedicated server (license server...). otherwise, i can just leave one of my PC's on all the time and folks can play any time they want.

I'm up for that deal. :)
I wouldn't play it offline much anyway, just when playing with you guys (a main reason I haven't bought it), so this won't be a problem for me.

I'm up for it any time! Of course, time zone differences mean some scheduling will be necessary. :)

Steel, Softball and I played via hamachi the other night and it worked fine. Of course we didn't test the shared license deal since we all have personal licenses.

K - go to files.rlgaming.com and download the .iso and the three patches. make sure you install all three in order.

get yoursefl set up on the RLGaming hamachi network...then let me know. i will mkae sure my codemeter stuff is up and running in server mode.

fwiw, i suggest that the license can be xferred via hamachi, but connect to the game server (whoever is serving) via regular internet so as not to incur the vpn latency...

I would be interested in giving this a shot. Is it a case of you keep the licences and your server lets another 2 join on them each time or do the licences get owned by the first people to then use them?

I am downloading the files required and Hamachi also.

yes - i have to run a license server that is network aware. if you join the hamachi network i set up, your game will find the license server and a license will be allocated to you. i just need to know ahead of time so i leave my machine on and connected to the hamachi network.

Where's the details on the Hamachi network? Mine still remembers the one called WOF_Server but I never saw an rlgaming one.

o.k. Jedi. My system is on and connected to hamachi and I tested the remote license thing from my laptop here at work. You should be good to go - just make sure you connect to the hamachi VPN before starting the game.
