Viacom discord accounts conpromised
If you use the Vaicom / voice attack stuff, be aware that the dev admins have lost control of their discord server and accounts to hackers. Do not trust anything from there. They said their Github account is safe.

Wow. I’m glad I don’t use that.

I use Vaicom Pro and I love it. I barely ever have to use keystrokes to use the menus to do anything, or the mouse to click on things. If you fly the Tomcat it is way better to control Jester with it than the Jester wheel. It also gives you a kneeboard that shows you everything you need to know about the mission--freqs for AWACS, ATC, other flights, keeps the radio messages for reference, and makes the 9 line brief easy as pie.
So when I read a few days ago that the site was compromised, I was worried I'd lose all that functionality. At the time they weren't sure if the Github was conpromised. I'm glad it appears it wasn't.
I'm a beta tester so I'm not sure that the Beta version is compromised. The release version on Github was uploaded/updated 2 weeks ago, well before the hack. If it got corrupted with a virus or malware, i think it would have shown on the Github that it was updated at around the time of the hack.
In any case, as a precaution, I ran a virus scan on all the relevant files, then a deep scan on my entire computer. Nothing bad detected. So I think everything and Github is OK.
Where I think is the issue is automatic updates via Voiceattack--I think those updates are downloaded from the compromised site (Discord?) and that's where you should refrain. BUt, even if you have automatic updates on, a window will pop up first asking if you want to download it so you can say no.
I'm not sure what it means about the Discord server being compromised. I got the announcement about the hack FROM the Vaicom Pro team on their Discord channel. If Discord had been taken over, how is it that they were able to tell us to not download anything? Even so, I'm not sure how Discord being compromised affects getting a bad download. I don't recall you being able to download Vaicom from the Discord server.
Anyway, all is fine on my end so I will continue using Vaicom Pro.

OK, got updated on the situation. It was the administrator's Discord account that got hacked. So the hacker kicked all of the other admins from the server and took over. So the real admin was saying to dot accept any file transfers from "him" via Discord, or any comms for that matter. That's where the concern comes in about malware corrupt files.
The Github is secure ATM.
