finally, found issue with server

i finally found the issue with the web server. it has been under steady attack from several botnets, overwhelming the CPU with bogus database queries. this has eluded me for quite come some time, maybe a couple years.

we should find the forums responding much faster now.

Thanks hammer. The exact same thing happened to SimHQ a couple years ago but it was fixed by adding a verification page where you have to authenticate before you can enter the forums.
