Foothold Cold War Germany 08.09.25

Post by Bones »

Here is footage of Foothold in Germany! It's pretty nice and there are tons of targets:

Are will still going with Kola for our next foothold or are we switching to Germany?

In the interest of not bogging down the RLG server or anyone's system if hosted locally, I would say Kola not Germany. But I wanted to show what Germany looked like. I will do one for Kola and Iraq next.

Unfortunately I have none of those maps so I won't be able to fly with y'all.

At the moment it was just an idea as to what to do if Sinai didn't work out, or what to do after we finish Sinai. Still up in the air.

That gives you time to consider a purchase or or something for the next DCS sale.

In my case I only play DCS online so whichever maps/theaters we decide to play as a group, those I’ll buy.

I can't bring myself to stomach any more modules at this point because ED scammed Razbam out of more than $3 million and later pinned it on a manufactured IP claim as a scam. They release half finished modules to get another cash grab and then rarely go back and complete the module in favor releasing more half-baked modules. Nick Grey is an absolute jerk and a con. It's recently been stipulated the scam of stealing Razbam's money was to cover Nick Grey's losses from sanctions against Moscow impacting his cash flow from ED (and other business interests in Moscow), and the timing supposedly lines up perfectly. And the trove of communications between Nick and Ron where Ron keeps asking to get paid and Nick apologizing and promising again and again ro fix it and making up various excuses (now known to be manufactured lies). This was happening for a full year before it became public and before ED suddenly claimed a false IP infringement. The IP thing was manufactured to cover Nick Grey's theft of Razbam dollars.

So no, I cannot in good conscience give ED another dime of my money at this time.

I am in the same boat there. Been looking for something else that has a similar "hardcore" feel...

Nothing else exists except for BMS.

At least BMS is cheap. But only has one legit module to fly. The rest are F-16 flight models with shells the last I saw, unless they finally fixed that?

for me, does not have to be flight sim.

Grifter, yes, although they may have made some headway there. I have not looked at BMS in quite a long while.

As of 2018 they were still using shells.
I was flying BMS alot then but kinda got tired of it, plus it was a tad bit buggy being a community project. The thing I got tired of the most though was that it was always in Korea. I got tired of seeing Korea all the time. Now the dynamic campaign was cool too, especially when you could just jump right into an available plane en route. But for me, Foothold has replaced that, plus Foothold has that scoring system. It just made me more attracted to DCS over BMS.

Plus I hated the cantankerous install process of BMS. But what can you do?

They just had a major update come out a few months ago. I haven't tried BMS ever so really can't speak to it. But supposedly it has come a lot further since 2018. I may try and fool around with it some time soon.

I flew Falcon 4: Allied Force quite a lot but I also have never tried BMS.

Oh and of course I'm a sucker for naval aviation, so Falcon BMS kinda wore thin on me relatively quickly. I'm not going to dress up an F-16 to look like an F?A-18C with the same Falcon FM and land it on a 2 bit carrier. I can do that in Arma 3 already.
