All,
I tried again several times to soften up India and take out that SA-22. Failed. I don't think this is something that any one person can do on their own with no support, especially with 4 bandits in the air.
I looked up the SA-22 Greyhound. It is the more evil version of the 2S6 Tunguska. It has twin 30 mm cannons, and 12, I say again TWELVE SAMs in its arsenal.
I've had HARMs shot down by rounds rather than missiles when attacking the area. I thought at first that it was so ZU-23s I had sighted, so I dropped 4 JDAMs on them, taking them out. Yet when I came back to attack them again, my weapons were shot down by cannon fire again. I have a feeling that the SA-22 is killing them with the twin 30mm.
On top of that, the SA-22 SAMs use radar to detect, but EO/IR to guide. So often had I been on an attack run then suddenly I was hit and there was no RWR warning. They can detect you 20-22 miles away, track you at 15-17 miles away, and can climb up to 49000 ft. They are also mobile.
Also of note is nearby there is a factory or powerplant. There are hostiles there and if you are not paying attention, you might overfly them and get shot at.
We need a solid plan.

I plan to be on!
I thought I packed my head tracker and I couldnt find it. So, i ordered a new puck. Well, i found the original minutes before the replacement arrived. At least I have a backup now.
If we stay low enough, may be able to take out those SAM sites with apaches.
I will fire up my chinook to rescue you all who get shot down....

Maybe I can Wild Weasel the SA-22 so it doesn't notice you getting in with the Apaches. But of course that means I will need air coverage as I can't handle both.
I think I did hit the SA-22 with a near miss shot but only dealt 22% damage at most. So we might have a leg up, who knows?
On the plus side I got us like 200 more points for fulfilling the air to air mission.
